The Red Dragon’s football team played an exciting game Friday night. Many of the community members were nervous as the team prepared to face the number one team in the state, the University High School Hawks, who came all the way from Morgantown, WV. It was a close game all the way to the end. SA kept the lead throughout each quarter, but University took the lead by 4th. Just before the quarter ended, Robert Alexander threw a pass to Cayden Doub, who made a clutch catch in the in-zone to bring the score to 36-37.  The Dragons then received the extra point in the last seconds of the fourth quarter to tie the game 37-37. Taking us into overtime, SA fought the battle well, but we lost as the scoreboard read 37-44 in the Hawks favor.  Even though we lost, we won in our own different way. To be able to fight that hard and stay with it is a feat of its own. Kudos, to the team and Dragon family behind it. The Hawks will remember entering the Dragon’s lair and not be in any hurry to return.
